Pushing the AR-15 design into new directions sometimes means the Mil-spec components stop working reliably. As we found, such is the case with the bolt catch when used with certain .22LR and 9mm magazines and ammo choices. These alternate rate bolt catch springs fix the issue of unreliable lockback with these options. If you're getting spotty lockback, one of these springs might be the fix, even for issues beyond what we've discovered.

 

Spring Color Power Use
JPEBC-S125 Red 125% Minimizes risk of accidental lockback with the GMR-15™ when shooting +P loads. Not required for standard power or lighter competition ammunition.
Mil-spec None 100% Standard applications
JPEBC-S50 Blue 50% Improved lockback reliability for softer shooting JP-5™ PCCs and for most AR-15 rimfire conversion magazines, including the Kriss Vector. Not required with S&W .22LR magazines. Not recommended for other AR-15/10 or AR-9 applications
JPEBC-S25 Green 25% Improved lockback reliability for AR rimfire conversions when using CMMG .22LR magazines. Use of a buffer in the bolt insert is recommended. Not recommended for use with other S&W .22LR magazines or in other AR-15/10 or AR-9 applications.
